rFactor League?
So guys, I'm trying to gauge the amount of interest in an rFactor League, the Porsche and some of the open wheeler mods are really quite good and offer a new challenge, mix that will a good selection of tracks(including aussie ones) there is certainly the content there to start a good competitive and varied racing league........... so I really just would like to get some idea of who would be interested in such a thing, please feel free to make any suggestions regarding mods that you would like to drive as well as the day of the week that would suit you and possibly even the race format you would like.
I'm not looking to replace AAL or LFS by any stretch of the imagination, but will the options that rFactor offer I believe there is definately something there to give some more variation in racing events and extend the options available to the Aussie online racing community.

If you guys can stir enough interest, there could be an XGN league too.
Early joiners may even rise to admin status quickly
I have written(still writing) a program which is capable of generating results from the server output and easy to use for administration - altho it's still not complete on the signup side for example, but would work with manual signup handled via forums - so in case there'll be an XGN league I can help with that as well.

Yeah, but they can't put it into our database or admin it later - only generate static html, as far as i know - besides what's the fun in that?DarrenM wrote:I know. I was just pointing it out in case you didn't realise that there are already programs out there to parse the result files.
by the way it's up and working on the xgn gtl league page - only parts missing are mainly user self-management+reg, track/car parts may be coming later...depending what we need/want.

Unfortunately Austeam race on a Monday so it doesn't suit me, I also find their site confusing and all over the place, I created an account but now can no longer access the forums............they also require a Filsca Account, which is fine, but for a newby rFactor racer on the scene trying to join a league shouldn't be that fiddly......

agreeDarrenM wrote:There are too many clubs in Australia in my opinion. 4-5 clubs with 20 racers in their leagues is just silly.
but I am glad to see Ausfactor come along and I hope they do really well and get some good things going. I think it is good to see an option for those who dont want to pay a membership fee to race.
