Re: Your cool photos.
Great shots as always! Love those landscapes.
I took a star trail shot while camping last week. I've done them before, but this time decided to try an image stack instead. This is over about 5 hours, camera was set to ISO3200 (so still a little grainy) and 30s exposures. Bit of tidying up to get rid of some power lines, but this is pretty much what I ended up with. The stars were so damn bright that I actually had to try and tone down the trails a bit.

Just commented on that one on flickr ... great shot, I think the tent is perfect for the 'out under the stars' feel to the photograph and adds a lot to the image; makes it almost timeless even though it's a modern tent, it's much more ancestral than any modern/permanent building.

Some from my time back in Britain ... there's quite a few more street shots but I'll leave those on flickr and post the landscapes from up North ...

Awesome pics. The stars look great and the Solway firth looks very dark and moody.

It felt like it was getting dark while I was shooting ... and it was about 1pm.Dr. Pain wrote:Awesome pics. The stars look great and the Solway firth looks very dark and moody.
I love shooting them too. Another reason I keep plotting to escape the city. Still, aiming to start taking the little one (camera) out on bike rides where I see a bit more countryside ... starting tomorrow.DexterPunk wrote:Thanks Dr.

Often views like that one frustrate me slightly with the mountain you've just climbed/are walking down getting right across the foreground of the picture. Only thing to do with it was use that line in the composition; the sky and the landscape are dramatic enough to compensate slightly for the rest of the composition.

Re: Your cool photos.
I lost my ND10 filter somehow, and decided I couldn't risk spending the time hunting around the house for something that may never turn up before I could get one for my trip overseas. I bought a new one and, decided to give it a test run. We had a lot of rain through Melbourne yesterday afternoon. Managed to take this shot before it pelted down.

A couple more from me. Went walking around some of the tracks near Marysville, Victoria on Australia day. Lots of falls and some really nice rainforest area.

Cheers. It's a great place to go for a walk.
Here's Melbourne doing what Melbourne does. Took this on my phone, but really quite like the shot.

Colours are lovely in that second waterfall shot. And I like the street one too, a great shot is a great shot, phone or camera.

A photo I took back in August last year. I just kinda skipped over it. But I think it's alright after another look.

Re: Your cool photos.
Great shot, I take it the little camera is still impressing?
These were all taken with my smaller one ... a little road trip down mostly rural roads in Castilla la Mancha, through Murcia to Alicante/Valencia and back via Cuenca ... in the 23 year old Vectra I was given ...

That'll do for now ... I like taking photos on road trips and always want to stop more to photograph every rural backwater I decide to detour through, but then progress is already pretty slow ...

Re: Your cool photos.
I went to a well known bluebell wood for dawn this morning. 5am!!
Unfortunately the golden hour was ruined by cloud and became the golden 15 minutes but I managed a couple of decent shots.

Re: Your cool photos.
Morning All,
A few weeks ago I was sent to South Africa for work. After the weeks work I flew the family over and we spent a week in Kruger National PArk and then a few days in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Kruger is amazing.. if you ever get the chance you should go and spend some time there.
Here are a few shots and there are some more in this Google Photos Album. I hope you enjoy them.
