True Detective (No Spoilers Please)

Post by Duke »

Watched the 1st episode last night & OMG... 10mins in & both the Mrs & I were hooked. It was no surprise to see that it's another top notch HBO series.
Both Harrelson & McConaughey performances are excellent, you can hardly recognise McConaughey.
So anyone here watch(ing) it??? If not get on it. ;)
The lives of two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana.
Creator: Nic Pizzolatto
Stars: Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan

I didn't NOT enjoy it, but I did get a little bored with it at times.

The Mrs and I were watching the TV series Hannibal around the time and found ourselves wanting to watch that more.

That being said, it is excellent and I would definitely recommend it to people.

Great series, if a bit short.

It's not unusual to have 8, 10 & 12 episode series particularly from HBO.

And there's a 2nd series coming from what I've read.

Like others I thought it was great and yes a second series in coming.

Actually I remember watching this on the plane, at the time I didn't realise they only had episodes 1,5 and 10 (something stupid like that), it wasn't until the connecting flight I realised and ended up watching the season from start to finish.

Just binged watched season one to see what the fuss was about. Wow.... wow. What a great piece of TV. Mcconaughey and Harrelson were spectacular. Can't wait for the second season.

Just finished the 1st season of this, it would have to be the best TV I've seen in years, Mcconaughey and Harrelson absolutely excelled in this, I think as others have said, "WOW" describes this best.

I liked it too. People were trying to compare it to season 1 but they're completely different paths. I think the end was lazy though. I still liked the season very much.

Vince Vaughan was actually pretty good! I was worried when I saw he was cast but he definitely grew on me and sold his character well I reckon.

I agree with all of the above. My take was it could've been a mega 6 season episode not 12, we nearly gave up on it early but persisted & glad we did.

I watched the first two episodes and couldn't get into it so I decided to bail out and come back to it another time.

The redhead who was married to Vince Vaughn was just drop dead sexy. Not particularly beautiful but just had something.... Probably the tits got me ;)
