The best race of all LFS Time
I have had a few people express interest in seeing this replay.
So I have fraps'ed it so that it may be viewed by all who now race in the AAL and play LFS.
Without further delay, I give you the best race ever:
Download ~50mb
Fern Bay Black played host to the S1 Finale with a massive 50 laps to be completed. Racers were encouraged to choose any car of their choice as each car had been allocated a place in one of three divisions. The winner of each division would enter a final showdown.
Again it was an SCR whitewash with Rots taking out the GTi/GT division, Chaz the fastest of the TBO’s and Scottie took out the MRT5/LX6 group. The handicap final showdown race at Fern Bay Black between the three great drivers was one of the most exciting spectacles ever seen in Live For Speed. Rots led the way and was through the chicane before Chaz was released. Scottie followed and they all drove on the limit around the 6.6 km Fern Bay Black circuit.

Wicked, thanks Sambo.
I can't believe how close that finish was, the pressure must have been intense for Rots, Chaz & Scottie and none of them seemed to make any mistakes
So was this race done on the same night as the 50 lap open race??
How was the release time calculated for each driver, cause it was spot on.
Must of been awesome seeing that live

Good one J-luo, been checking out LFSW to see the results.J_luo88 wrote:Looks like the S1 Finale was held on the 29th November 2004. With the actual race held on the 23rd November 2004...
OMG 50 laps of Fern Bay Black in those cars
Am I reading these right.
Scottie (MRT) won by 4:21min only 6 finishers
Chaz (FXO) won by 3:50min only 5 finishers & Rots being the only non-turbo driver?

I'm not exactly sure who raced, but as you would have guessed, there were a lot of DNF's during that race. iirc, we had two servers, one running the TBO's and FR cars, and another running the MRT, and the two LX's. Basically covering all the S1 cars.
So to answer you question, Rots wouldn't have been the only non-turbo driver, there were others. As for all the information in regards to it, i think it's all been lost as it (the event) was run off the LFS Endu website, which now has ceased to exist.

Actually the S1 finale was run in two heats. Chaz ran in the later one and his time was then compared to the winner of the turbo class from the previous heat, which he still won by just under a min. so the finale was all the aggregate winners battling for a 1 lap show down.
oh by the way, i stole that little text description from the AAL website :P sorry pix hope you dont mind

i think there were 2 different race nights, i had an awesome race with Sars in the non turbo devision, swapping positions and racing neck and neck for all 50 laps.
i eventually won, however rots raced on another night (on his own i think?) and completed the race one second faster than i did :P
i have a stack of screenshots from the race, i'll post them up soon

Was it? I can't even remember now. May have been. Almost 3 years ago now :STakumi wrote:i think there were 2 different race nights, i had an awesome race with Sars in the non turbo devision, swapping positions and racing neck and neck for all 50 laps.
