Fantastic stuff. As long as your laptop has more then 512mb and you're connection is alright you should be able to run about 5/6 people without too much of a problem.

The only rule I think you should need, would be - Don't go wondering far off in the map. It makes the map huge and cause issues for the server. Also, avoid lava and fire as I believe they can cause quite a bit of lag. Controlled burning should be announced to everybody on the server as it can cause random disconnects.

Other then that, I'm in on this.

I added some rules to the first post SiD,

I have a HP pavillion dv8000 the reviews of it say its a peice of crap, haha. but the specs i have from WindowsXP show up different to the specs online.. online say it has 516mb ram but tells me i have a 1gb.

im going to go through it later and uninstall all the programs on it, the HP stuff and chrome and everything i put on, hopefully help it a bit :)

VT and myself are going strong still. Im building a castle, he's building a bridge between 2 hills. its great.

I setup a communal chest/furnace/workbench in the bottom floor of my castle. :D

so far server seems fine with 3 people, we had bauer, vt and myself, then bauer left and goop came along.

like to test it with a few more... so come on guys!!

Was good fun. There are some frustrating differences between single and multiplayer but all in all it was fun running around :)

I'll be back

its a bit wierd i went exploring and some other stuff i did after was there. so who knows.

it shouldnt happen ever. so im a bit lost. the server saves the maps just like they do in singleplayer. if i go into the server settings there is a folder called "arseville" with everything in there. so i can back i up and what not :)

Urgh. I can't stay connected. I've had this almost every time I play on SMP. Its apparently to do with my network card causing problems, so until I get a pci network card I'm out. Lame.

Bloody java :(

I could try running it here on my dedicated server, but it could just be buggy net code...

I left the server for a while and Astro and VT was able to stay on for ages with no lag. I came back and there was lag. Which is interesting.

were trying to sort something out now

Is the server public?

Because I just logged in and someone's set fire to the place.
