Deadwood
was pretty into seeing this series.. from what id heard its pretty awesome.. im a huge sopranos fan, and friends of mine had said if you like sopranos you gunna love it.. im quite a big western fan as it is... but ive found it hard to get into, not writting it off yet, ive watched most of the first season... but i kinda feel a little dissapointed. I find it hard to care about any of the characters, and i wanna see some action. ATM, it seems like far too much politics for a western series and not enough fun... One of the hard hitting elements of sopranos to me is the feeling of reality.. weather it be far fetched or not, when something goes down it seems epic... in this show i feel theres so much talk and barely any action. do i need to keep watching? im feeling kinda bored with the whole thing and not sure if i should bother keep watching.
as far as the acting goes, its top notch, i cant fault it theres, trying to take it for what it is, but im struggling to find any appeal to it.

Simply the best 3 series program I have ever watched...
We are part way through the first season again.
I reckon its fantastic.

Re: Deadwood
Same, it and band of brothers for mine.
I thinbk what I liked it was quirky & weird.
Not like the wild west we saw in John Wayne movies.
People are small greedy lustfull sad, the good become bad and the bad become good, and some stay the same.
I really liked the dialogue between Al & Wu. Cocksucker says it all.

Yep, that first speaking scene he has with Al where he comes to tell him the dope has been stolen and his courier killed is brilliant. "Sweargen" "cocksucka!" Awesome.richo wrote:Just refinished season 1 last night.

Just finished the 1st season to see what the fuss was about. Two seasons to go. Not hating it.

Like Richo I really want more. Hearst in the can, the young whore really seemed setup for something but nothing came of it. Alma having nothing to do.
The CGI train and music at the beginning had me thinking of an episode of Firefly circa 2002.
But otherwise god damn it was good!

End of S2 for me last night. Been smashing through it. Wouldn’t have bothered without the movie but at the same time it’s one I have always wanted to see.norbs wrote:Just finished the first 3 series you cocksuckers.
