Good game last night really enjoyed it. Was happy the thunder got up after eliminating the strikers. Doesn't feel as bad losing to the winners in my opinion

For good reason. We just came off beating India 4-1 in the highest scoring ODI series ever, 300 per innings was common, until yesterday.
But that seems the norm in cricket at the moment. Do well in your own country and struggle elsewhere.

Not that I saw any of it but the result didn't surprise me one bit, a whole summer playing on roads and now suddenly in NZ having to deal with swing, pretty much every aussie batsman's achilles heel.

It was the second game on the pitch and it slowed during the New Zealand innings. The Kiwi bowlers were faster than ours but the ball was slow onto the bat by the time we got to bat. There really wasn't too much swing. Not enough to crumble like we in the middle order.

Just one of those things, every ODI is now attacked with the batsmen going 11 tenths, occasionally 6/50 is going to happen.
You just hope it does not happen in a big game like the WC Final as it did for the Kiwis.

Ok lucky I prefaced that I hadn't even seen the game before running my mouth off
Even in T20 there's still a very good case to be made for being patient and building an innings but this seems to get lost on batsmen quite a bit, often one good partnership is all that's needed to get the big totals.

That was a better game wasn't Thornz?!
Watching Khawaja bat is a pleasure but our middle order is a worry.

Absolute screamer of a catch by Marsh in the gully to get McCullum for 40, but a no ball by Pattinson... He then goes APE SHIT! and sets the faster 100 in history in 54 balls. He finally goes for 145 off 79 balls. It was punishing and brilliant to watch!
It's what I love about cricket, when something special happens, no matter by who, it's amazing to see

I knew we wouldn't last long on the 20/20 world cup. We just don't do well in this form of the game. I think part of the problem is picking players who are a bit hit and miss. Maxwell is one of them. He seems permanent in this team but you never know what you will get from him in terms of batting.

I watched that game against India, and to be honest I don't think the Aussies did too much wrong. Perhaps we ended up 15 or 20 runs short of what we "should" have got, especially after the start.
But Kohli was just incredible; awesome in every sense of the word. Perfect yorker on off-stump? Square drive it somehow behind point for four. Beaten in flight by the spinner? Flick the hands through and deposit the ball over wide mid-off for six. What he was doing was so far above any other batsman I've seen.
At the end of the game I didn't think we'd played badly, we just came up against a team and a player who did it better.
