After a few years of relatively mundane motoring in a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 a change in job and a much improved salary have given me the opportunity to move up in the motoring world. It's still a Corsa but it's a
Twas the showroom car so it's fully loaded, leather, carbon trim, LSD to tame the 200+ ponies and the 180 ish torques available from just over tickover, Brembo at the front etc etc...
It's pretty bloody quick and I fear for my licence . Vauxhalls get a bit of a slating over here but I've never had a problem with any of the ones I've owned and driven. My very first car was a Viva HC bought for £25. It is, admittedly, a bit of a "chav" motor but I love it and for a 1.6 litre (albeit turbocharged) it's an absolute nutter as long as the tarmac is relatively smooth. Once the road surface gets a bit choppy it does snake around a bit if the right foot is over enthusiastic. It does make me smile though although that'll probably stop when I look at the mpg.
