After some HL'ing today I've done a 2:01.235.
But I've still got stutters & pauses even after much investigation & updating of firmware & drivers this morning... :rolleyes:

One thing about this track is there is really only 1 or 2 legitmate passing spots... :eek:

RSR LiveTiming WR's are intersting for this track;

Code: Select all

RSR LiveTiming WR's;
    BMW M3 GT2               = 1:57.123
    BMW Z4 GT3               = 1:59.287
    Ferrari 458 Italia S3    = 2:04.356
    McLaren MP4/12C GT3      = 1:58.643

I ran the M3 last night there and am way off that pace...... Ran a 2:07 on the set I used and pretty much had it sliding the arse out everywhere which was weird.

Thinking of trailing some runs in the other two before I spend time cranking on the M3 setup

Yikes, there's a fair discrepancy there. M3 looks a lot faster. I don't think the McLaren has the straight line speed here.

Testing required.

Keep in mind the RSR WR's may not entirely reflect true car speed / lap times.
Also out of the GT's race cars it isn't an insurmountable difference in my opinion.
Although as we can see the Fezza will struggle here due to it's lack of a race car aero package.

The M3 is not the fastest thing down the straights, the Z4 boys usually have better straight line but the M3 seems better in the twisties

And the McLaren is a demon under brakes & corner entry compared to my M3 from what I've seen & experienced so far.
The joys of multi-class racing. :p

Which is the worst combo if you're behind someone. If they cover their tail properly, it makes it almost impossible to pass. I found I was really struggling at Monza because of that.

Been turning some laps tonight and mate. Unless you are in the m3, I doubt anyone else will win. Either the m3s have a big advantage or I am just not good at this track. Don't think it is the second one as I feel I am getting the max out of it. Time will tell...

After shagging the McLaren boss's wife and daughter one night, I was kicked off the squad. Shit car anyway!

Now in the BMW M3 GT2 and going about 7 seconds faster! Thanks to Duke for the suggestions.

Just as long as you don't beat me next round otherwise that's the last of the favours. :p

Done some testing today in the Z4. Man the Z4 is a hoot to drive, at times sideways at 100mph & still controllable. :D
For me there's still about 1 sec difference between it & the M3. But I'm more used to the M3 remember.
If you want you can grab the replays & sets from today for both cars below. The sets are 2 lap wonders only. ;)
I won't guarantee they are super fast or will work for anyone else but you never know.

M3 GT2 = 2:02.147 : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ias3y7xzhz5cp ... m3_gt2.zip" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Z4 GT3 = 2.02.975 : https://www.dropbox.com/s/cgr0q0sdg0gkd ... z4_gt3.zip" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

No idea why but I am struggling big time with this track....... The first 2 rounds I have clicked in straight away but this track is just kickin my arse!!!! When I get a perfect first half I stuff the back section, then I stuff the first and have a perfect finish of the lap...

May just let me lap be "the one" and work on long runs

I've been the opposite, out of the 3 tracks so far this one seems to have just clicked for me. :vibes:
Although I'm not sure if I am actually that fast but I don't care as I'm loving the combo & race nights can throw up anything in the way of results, no matter how you might feel. :rolleyes:

If I can manage a low 2:01, you blokes will go close to sub 2 minutes!

I'm done with Hotlapping, could squeeze a sub 2min but it'd have to be a near perfect lap for me.
But I see no use in trying as I think I'll be safely in Div A with the time I have in reserve. ;)
So time to develop a stable & pacey race set, thinking tyres could be a big issue with all the fast sweepers...

I vote next multiclass series there's no swapping car types between rounds... :rolleyes:

Damnation to those swapping to the M3 GT2 for this race. :p :lol:

It's only taken everyone else 2 rounds to work out it is actually a decent car :)

i tried to drive it, felt like a pig and went back to the z4, i'd rather a race where i think i can get 20 laps out of a car without spinning vs that thing lol
