I have no idea what to drive!!
Im fastest in the Z4, find the McLaren is a bit slower but I can be really consistent.. the Ferrari im not far back and its quite easy to drive and has a great top speed for overtaking

Great mix of cars across the divisions! Darren's 48 in the Ferrari is amazing! going to be a crazy mid corner speed difference!

Me too mate but you've still got 0.6 on me, in the same car too.dvestate wrote:Hmmm Div 1..... This should be interesting for me..
But I surprised myself to make Div A after about a 5yr hiatus of any league series racing. Quite chuffed!!!

Can anyone confirm if slipstreaming is now working online?

I can't see myself doing great in Div 1. Fight for the back of the pack.

Pix, what's the logic behind having such an early cut-off? I can see ppl regularly missing out - I've almost missed it this time, too.
Maybe closing entries on the night before the race would be friendlier?

People will always miss the cut off. It's very clear when the cutoff is.
There's a bit of time there so that pix can sort the bookings and all that business too.
It was the same with AAL, I don't see the problem with it.
Would you like us to create a google calendar you can subscribe too.......?

Hahaha Righty, Google Calender.
I was lucky this w/end that I was allowed the time to HL during the day.
But on this subject I personally would like to see the entry date extended to at least Monday night as Sunday night is usually in front of the TV watching Motorsport (F1, MotoGP, DTM, etc).

I am pretty happy to be at the pointy end of the field. Hoping I can get some pretty quick times in race conditions.
If not hopefully I have the same pace of at least one other racer so we can have a fun race

Yes, but what's wrong with any other night leading up to Sunday? It's not like you HAVE to do it Sunday, or on the last day.
If we had the cutoff 2 minutes before the race, people would still say they missed it.
I imagine it gives pix a chance to be a bit more flexibility getting stuff sorted for the servers rather then needing to do it on a particular day because he's got no other choice.
I could be wrong, but I think, given he sorts all this in his own time for us, the least we can do is respect the times that are in place.

Re: 2014 Winter GT Series - Race 1 - Monza
Righty, I can see you're nice and inflexible, but what's the reasoning, really? "It was good with AAL" is not really a reason, is it? If that was a good reasoning anywhere, we'd still be living in caves...
My thinking:
The only thing there is to do, really, is to fill the grids for now. And the "race mail". Which, if we reason people should remember the cut-off - has even less validity, because people should doubly remember the race night. The mail's only real purpose is the password, but if there are grids, there's no point in having passwords. So the race mail becomes a mere reminder.
by the way, righty, are you an admin or you just feel like standing up for Pix ? If you're an admin, do you feel a day or two extra cut-off would put extra work on your shoulders? Or is it detrimental to the AACL on some level? I'm really interested why you feel that this would be a bad change.
Edit: it seems to me you're not an admin - if that's so, then why won't you let Pix answer ?

Re: 2014 Winter GT Series - Race 1 - Monza
I guess you can call me inflexible if you wish. From my perspective, if people have sorted all their skins for the event by the Sunday night it means that I can send them to the AACL folders for people to download, rather than waiting till the night before to sort them all out. It then gives people a couple of nights to download and sort all that out for themselves and gives us a chance to pick any problems there.ysu wrote:Righty, I can see you're nice and inflexible, but what's the reasoning, really? I'm not speaking on Pix's behalf and of course he can answer for himself, I'm just respecting the fact that, that's the date that is set for cut off, why can't others? It wasn't put in place to be inconvenient or piss people off.
As for being an "admin", I don't really think of myself as one, but along with Flinty, Norbs and Pix, I had some say in setting the league up. Call me what you will.

Most people that would race would tend to be the very same people that post/visit here almost everyday? Apart from what group you go into qualifying for the event has not a lot to do with the actual race anyways.
I can't see the problem the rule set is what it is and it's fair for everyone imho the only unfair thing is allowing a bot to enter and then dominate week in week out

He has accidentally picked a different car, so we should be OK.richo wrote: the only unfair thing is allowing a bot to enter and then dominate week in week out
The speed difference is going to be very interesting though.

Re: 2014 Winter GT Series - Race 1 - Monza
As Righty pointed out, there has to be a cut of sometime and I've yet to read a worthwhile reason to switch to another night..
During AAL we switched nights several times and you can never please everyone..
To be clear.. The decisions made for this league are discussed by Righteous, Flinty, norbs and myself based on everyone's input..

Re: 2014 Winter GT Series - Race 1 - Monza
To be fair, it is Pix, Righty and Flinty that do all the work.
I just sit in the corner ranting and raving at people (Google calendar!~!!) and leave the hard work up to them. Pix has done a shitload to the website in the background and sets up the servers. He also has a family.
So thanks gents, for putting the time into running AACL.

farkenell div 1 was hoping to be in div 2 with my cousin (we ended up being last in div 1 first in div 2) so thats a shame lol. Also Re cutoff time for hotlaps, as long as its clearly stated i don't see why it should be an issue, realistically you should get your hotlapping out the way as early as possible so you can practice on a race setup in my opinion
