Sorry again I know how much of a piss off it is for all of us.
Unless you have the chat window open, you wont see it.

No worries mate. It died on everyone in the end. :)

Major piss off because for the first time I was reasonably competitive maybe that's because i was warping :(
Yeah, it's Python Chat or something like that. Not great but works okay.

I have no idea how you made it past more than half the field in the first few corners :eyepop:

To me it appeared that there was an off at the first slow corner with a few cars involved and I made my way through .

So weird it was perfectly normal for me and complete chaos for everyone else , sigh..

It was mentioned, but the lack of communication channels makes it a bit hard... :)

Pix, got the response from Wally at xgn, this is what he's running, and yes he has the latest AC server version on it.
C3.large. Enhanced networking. Windows 2008R2.
There was a fun race yesternight and as far as I know there were no problems, either.

But also: he's running things somewhat differently, and the devil maybe in the details. When we join we need not to book there and wait a minute, it's only a "join" button and 25 sec wait - or in case one have the "Freejoin" mod, it's no wait at all. (this is Freejoin's "freebie", not a server setting)

And just to be sure; you did not have more people on than pit stalls, correct?

Given there is usually one race every 2 weeks, do you really need someone to put together a Google calendar? Any reason you couldn't do it yourself?

Uhh weeks are generally the same length throughout timezones...

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

I've got a 1:05:085 at the moment. Still seem to be struggling in some areas. Anyone feel like cutting a few laps with me online... basically so I can steal your lines? :D

Key parts of the circuit to focus on from what I gathered is the last corner complex. Go around the first part of the esses a little slower and tighter to get more speed going out of it. It'll be hard to keep the car controlled but if done well, you will be shifting into 4th before the turn in.

Mind you, I seemed to have a very different setup to everyone as I lost a bit of time on the corner after the straight and seemed to catch everyone on the straight. Happens when the downforce is at 5 degrees and tyre pressures are up.

Thanks for the tips. I'll work on that section. I also have an issue at Stowes. Well, issue. I feel like I'm not getting through there as quick as I could. It's just a weird feeling corner for me.

Entry onto the back straight was wide. Will that be something that is penalised in the race? Like it is in hotlap

Yeah it's an invalid lap. He'd be slowed down if the off-track penalties were enabled (so it would not go up on RSR) Mind you, this sort of line can help cut 0.5-1 second easily.
It's not penalised on the race server, though.

I really dislike that cut off. I think it's a strange one.

I will admit, I take full advantage of that in the race when it isn't penalized. Just seems like a natural line to me.
