Valve are adding support in TF2 to see how it goes. Still aim with the mouse and just look around with the head tracking. There's a brief clip of it in the video.

With delivery of the Rift imminent, we’re putting the finishing touches on the first cut of the Oculus SDK. One big focus for the launch is the out-of-the-box Oculus integration plugin for Unity 4.

Sounds promising. It really is going to be sensation in racing games as long as you're able to get your hands to the controls reasonably easily.

That looks like hard work and a chiropractors dream.

Still if you can wear that and not have to have 3x monitors and stand etc it could be pretty cool.

Definitely cool and only 100x the price of the Oculus hehe

I was a bit pessimistic there for a bit about how long it might take iracing to support the rift but it sounds like it will be fairly simple to implement. I gather the 3D support means it's all pretty much there and won't require major effort to get basic support, the issue I think will be a proper way to handle the black boxes and things like that.

HL2 now has beta support for the rift so I think that's something I'll definitely spend a bit of time on, still yet to play episode 1 & 2. Still expecting a couple months before my dev-kit arrives though :(

Andrew Scott Reisse, co-founder of the company that made the Oculus Rift virtual-reality headset, was struck and killed while walking in a crosswalk Thursday, ABC has reported.

The 33-year-old co-founder and lead engineer at Oculus VR in Irvine, Calif., was hit in Santa Ana, where he was a resident, by a speeding car being pursued by police, KABC TV Los Angeles said.

Got mine today. The level of immersion in iracing is amazing. Driving the C6R it felt like the driver hands on screen were mine. It also feels a lot more natural when driving as you can look through the corner with normal head movement.

The resolution definitely isn't high enough to switch full time, but that's what I expected.

I get dizzy occasionally though, mainly through esses when looking from apex to apex. Possibly because there's no head tracking, so when I lean my head towards the corner and the view doesn't move with me my brain gets confused. It's not too bad if I concentrate on keeping my head still and just rotate it about a single point. I tried a demo using the hydra for head tracking and it was a bit better in that regard, but I still felt weird when walking around.

I get nauseous playing most of the demos, and a second wave when I take the headset off. Hopefully I get used to it, or don't suffer as bad when I'm less tired. Might have to try some travicalm or something :(

In iRacing the weirdest feeling is when stopping the car. I guess my brain expects that build up of forces, then snap back that you get. But that doesn't happen and it freaks out.
