Re: Oculus Rift
There is no shipping "shown" on my current invoice but I would expect that I am still going to be charged for it when it actually ships. I have received bugger all information since I ordered actually. I received the email as above but nothing states that I am included in the waiver or not.
Still looking forward to it though. This is a birthday present to myself and hoping that it does get included in AC updates.
Noob question, if the HTC Vive is a Valve backed product and they make steam, and AC is on steam is it more likely that AC will back the Vive?
I can't wait to see the look on my brides face when she sees me racing with this haha, she gives me the full "nerd" run down for playing shooting games with my mates given my background. Hopefully 10 minutes in the chair with this thing and she will come around.
ARMA 3, helicopters and a stick will be a god damned hoot! But I will probably break something when I am on the ground in game and rounds started coming in and I try to crawl under the desk in a contact drill.

Re: Oculus Rift
My invoice looks the same. If it is any comfort to you, one of the Oculus big wigs (can't remember which one) confirmed on twatterbook or somewhere like that, that all pre-orders submitted up until April 2nd (I think it was) would have free shipping. There were no weasel words around it at all, which is remarkable in itself.c.j wrote:There is no shipping "shown" on my current invoice but I would expect that I am still going to be charged for it when it actually ships. Re: Oculus Rift
Yep, all orders placed before April 2nd get free shipping. No exceptions. They're even refunding shipping for orders that had already gone out.
Assetto devs seem more interested in supporting Rift than Vive. They're currently focused on the console port though, so I doubt we'll see any VR support in that game for another couple months at least.

According to reddit, early AU pre-orders are being processed:
I'm going to be way down the list with a xx34xx order number

I'm xx26xx, ordered at 10 past. I expect it'll still be a few days at least.

Re: Oculus Rift
Um, so how does my order number correlate to the shipping?

Re: Oculus Rift
The assumption is that there is some sort of loose correlation between order number and shipping order.

Re: Oculus Rift
I'm 26xxx with my order being confirmed at 8:06. I haven't heard much else, but I can't be too far away.

My confirmation was sent at 7 minutes past 2am, 2am being the time here that the orders opened. (QLD time). I also am a 26xxx order number
my little brain doesn't quite see the connection.

Re: Oculus Rift
Increments.
27 deliveries will be later than 26 etc. But people have narrowed it down to the time your order was completed within each bracket.
Basically anyone who's order was after the 6 minute mark will be in wave 2.

Re: Oculus Rift
Oculus says they're better than expected. The only other thing of value I found is;
"We don’t expect Oculus to share any specific pre-order figures unless they’re truly exceptional, as that info will be of competitive nature until the company’s two major competitors (HTC Vive and PlayStation VR) give their own prices and take pre-orders."

WTF... Same here, not till 2-12 May for me. I'm a bit pissed about that! So much for a March estimate.

But that's why they knocked almost $200 off the price isn't it?

30 bucks was knocked off my order. Doesn't feel like it's good compensation for a 7 week delay.pab wrote:But that's why they knocked almost $200 off the price isn't it?
