Android Notifications sound.

Post by norbs »

Does anyone of the Android freaks know if you can change the notification sound for email and SMS? I never know if my phone has just got an SMS or email.

Download and use GoSms. It's much more user friendly and has that sound change option.

Sounds like problem solved already but usually the email app will allow a different notification sound whereas sms will use the system default. A useful tip, if you make a 'Notifications' folder on your sd card or internal storage and put ringtones etc. in there, they will show up automatically in the system settings for selecting the notification sound. The same works with a 'Ringtones' as well, instead of using the music player to set a song as a ringtone.

That's the way I got around it a year or so ago.

Something else I forgot if you're using GoSMS and have your phone on vibrate a lot, you can set the vibrate pattern as another way to tell if it's and email or sms you've received. My email is the standard two pulses whilst GoSMS is about five short pulses.
