It was more about the ad at the end Kev. I was wondering what people were doing destroying perfectly good phones.

I actually found that quite interesting as I'm about to upgrade my company's fleet of mobile phones and have been struggling between whether to just go to the iPhone 4s or hang out for the Galaxy Nexus

I'm in the same situation. Leaning toward the droid for the moment but have a month or so to decide.

I bought a 4s 64GB Tuesday last week. Love it. Big jump up from the old 3Gs. It's so quick! Siri is a bit of a gimmick I reckon, but it is quite fun to see what it can do... And actually quite intelligent. It really needs to have locations and businesses in Australia working though to be properly useful. I think I heard later next year it should be introduced. Having 64GB is definitely nice, I can fit most of my music on now.

I think Siri is a gimmick if you let it be. I've complete converted to using it for simple boring stuff where its quicker to speak then to follow the normal workflow with your fingers. Like, setting alarms, meetings, reminders, timers, reading sms' while driving etc.

Although its usefulness went out the window once I got a cold.

The early days were frustrating too, until it learns your voice. I've even got it saying "gonna" now, which makes me laugh when I read it.

I've actually been really impressed how well the voice regognition works. It's possibly the best I've seen on any device or computer. And yes, I have actually been using it a bit to set alarms and reminders. It's also quite good when hooked up to my car stereo and just telling it what to play instead of searching through songs while driving, which is quite dangerous.

I use Siri all the time for setting alarms and reminders. Very handy and quicker than doing it manually. Yes it's a bit gimmicky but it does have its uses.

Apple's design chief Johnny Ive got a knighthood in the new years honours list. A bit excessive maybe. An MBE would probably have been enough, but well done to him anyway.
