I use lightwave but Max plays a little part for me. I use the plug developed that allows Max to import CMX files and then I export it from max into LW. When I first started doing these I was creating all the UV maps myself Once I worked out that I didn't need to I was both relieved and pissed off. But I learnt a crap load about how the LFS devs go about their UV mapping.

It's a fantastic skin HZ... It certainly looks the part.
I'm sure if I had a look back through the thread I could find you a few renders with DOF settings. I remember repo did one for the PRT BFR. Just off the top of my head

Indeed... And unlike most of this tread the image is actually still hosted somewhere! Possibly the worst skin I have ever seen. Spent more time working on the render then the skin :PRighteous wrote:It's a fantastic skin HZ... It certainly looks the part.

Personally mate I don't like it But it seems everybody luv da chrome
I much prefer a matte colour or something like that People tend to go ohhh shiny
I would like to render out a "focus pull" I might do one tonight. They have just updated all the DOF and Motion Blur stuff in LW. It looks pretty good these days
I can replicated any camera and lens, I have a shift camera at my disposal, I can alter f-stop, shutter, iris, diaphragm you name it. So for all you photo nuts out there I can replicate all your settings and get an identical look
I have attached a pretty simple one I had done a while back testing out a few new settings

It's a funny but serious thing HZ. The problem with trying to do photrealistc renders is that you need to allow for human error, which essentially is making mistakes on purpose the best "Photo real" renders are the ones with imperfections.

Yep, exactly. The v-ray renderer I use has the same deal with the camera dude. That DOF shot I did above has f-stop of 1.2 and 1/300 exposure, for example. You usually use the camera in conjunction with a "sun" so the camera settings are slightly closer to what you would use in real life. Also not big on the chrome.Righteous wrote:It's a funny but serious thing HZ.
