I ran into a million of the little fucks in a cavern. In the end I think I sealed it off because I couldn't kill them all.

Might get back in on the weekend and go looky.

that's more like it  :D

it seems the trouble is that they can spawn best down deep. I mean very deep. Lava level and below. So it can be tricky.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

They only spawn in 10% of the chunks to, there is a hack for smp that allows you to see what chunks they will spawn in.

Found something I'll look at tomorrow

Redstone torch duplicator.

Use a sticky piston in the upright position, place a solid block on the piston. Place redstone on the ground in front of the piston. When you place a redstone torch on the solid block it activates the piston, causing the redstone torch to drop off and duplicate.

gotta say something is wrong there.
I've built some underground holes to see if they come, and they did, but half the time they were outside of the big pit I dug for them to spawn, and even worse; invisible.
One knocked me into my own pit ffs! :)

I left some water underneath the ground at lud, and I saw some squiddies trying to fight there way through the dirt. Rather funny
