Forgot about this, thanks guys.
Good to see the bloke embracing social media considering he cops so much flack from the tools of FB...

MADCAP got 2 shots in his short list as well, 3 pics chosen out of 4 from the togs at ARSE was a pretty decent hit rate.

I think you're seeing what you want to see.

The Merc does look good though.

Apparently the post race check of ignition timing found 6 or so cars in breach of the rules. No biggie in an exhibition race I suppose.

Scott Pye had a decent accident. But that was caused by an apparent brake failure.

SP always produces good close, hard racing.

Close follow the car in front racing is what I saw today.

Scott Pye was lucky. Very lucky

Pretty hard hit he took. Frosty's end to the race was interesting. Those front panels peel away easy it seems.

Shell logos are back on the DJR #17 car, and I have to admit I like this livery! The black and red looks quite nice.

More interested to see what Chaz Mostert can do in the #12 DJR car though, he's been super quick in the Dunlop series and should be able to get some speed out of the cars if they're not complete lemons...

This is something I came across a while back but I can't believe they kept a spool diff on these things! A perfect opportunity to switch to an LSD and they didn't do it. So the IRS might give a bit more ride compliance but the cars are still going to turn in like pigs and be happy on the throttle. I doubt the driving experience has changed a huge amount as that locked diff seems to be the overriding characteristic of the cars...

I heard that the other week.
I was sure an LSD was part of the original COTF design though?

Seems odd thats for sure...

They have been spouting DNA and history. Part of the history and dna is how the car drives I guess.

They tested a Salisbury LSD and Detroit Locker at Hidden Valley in 2010, but abandoned the idea. The manufacturers of the transaxle gearbox (Albins) even have a limited slip diff assembly they can just drop straight into the existing COTF gearbox, but V8 Supercars specifically requested a spool diff for some crazy reason.

Some good reading on the gearbox/diff design here: http://www.v8scglobal.com/features/qa-w ... nsmission/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
