Excellent, the system update notification has been driving me mental, time to try Lollipop again.

i had 5.0.1 on my old Nexus 7 and it was so laggy it was unusable, so i reverted back to 4.4.4 with CM11. Now i've upgraded to 5.1 and so far so good.

You don't need to be rooted to flash the images, just happy to wipe your device.

I see there's a new build of 5.1, existing is LM47d, new one is LM47i, not sure what the changes are but LM47d is working alright for me so I'll wait for Telstra to allow the new build to go OTA before updating.

I got the 5.1 OTA a few days ago through Telstra. Not much difference to be honest. I wasn't having issues to begin with so I'm not really seeing much.

Just received 5.1.1 OTA for the Nexus, I have no idea what's changed but it's on it!

Lots of little things that make it run nicer mostly. Not really any new features.

Can't really see anything different in the 5.1.1 update. Don't notice and speed differences or anything either. I was assuming most of it would be vulnerability fixes and some OS tweaks at best?

• Fixes a memory leak issue introduced with the Android 5.0 "Lollipop" release
• Various other bugfixes

I've been running the Android M developer preview since Friday and it's really stable... Some new features are half finished but it's ok to use as a daily driver!

Marshmallow is out for most Nexus products, anyone loaded it up yet?

I flashed the factory images today after running the test builds for a few months.

So far so good. I wouldn't hesitate installing it.

That icon for me is "Android OS." A reboot doesn't get it named right or something?

Well... it finally happened. After multitudes of drops, I finally smashed the screen on my Nexus. My contract is up in February so will be looking for a new one. Any idea on what's new/best out there at the moment? Is the LG Nexus any good?

After having to send in the missus' LG G3 for a warranty claim, they (Telstra) sent back a LG 5X to replace it. She didn't want to learn a new phone, so it's mine to use.

Coming from a LG G3 myself, it feels so small in the hand. I'm still getting used to it, but it seems like a good phone.

Everything I've read say its a small upgrade to the 5X from the 5, but that's typically in the context of trading up from a working phone, not the busted arse bit of scrap you have now. If my 5 died tomorrow I'd grab a 5X.
