I thought the French one was terrible, based entirely on boring old clichés about France. Really lazy writing.
This one looks better.

To be fair, with out old clichés, Clarkson is fucked.

Haha, that's true but he normally finds a way to present it in an interesting or unexpected way. They took the most obvious route with everything they did on that one.

Re: Not Top Gear
Yeah, that whole bit was a wtf for me. So unnecessarily dangerous I assumed it was a fake scenario until the crash. Studded tyres on dusty concrete can't have helped.
Was an enjoyable episode though.

Re: Not Top Gear
Freddy Flintoff is not going to return to Top Gear if it continues. He still seems to be recovering from injuries sustained rolling the Morgan 3 wheeler last year.
I think that could be the end for TG.
Maybe just as well. Might be a good time to rethink it entirely. I suspect people (including me) are a bit fed up now with the current format. They had the ideal opportunity to come up with something new when Clarkson and co left but they just trotted out the same tired 'challenges' and review styles but it lacked the wit of the presenters and Richard Porter's writing. It needs a serious look at what people watch these days on youtube and make a show out of that perhaps.
