Farking tech support

Had to reboot my modem and router and now getting less than half the download speed I pay for from Aussie broadband. I post a service fault and I get this email back:
Could you please perform 3 direct connection test 3 times a day (morning,
evening, night) to speed.aussiebroadband.com.au (This saves to your file)
The best way to do a direct connection test is to kick your routers connection
in the My Aussie App and then plug in the computer into the NBN Box via
Ethernet, replacing the router with the computer.
Great I say, what the hell does 'kick your routers connection in the My Aussie App" mean? There's nothing I can see in the app that resembles this at all.

This will end the current connection with your device, allowing you to connect
another without any IP conflicts.
Sure, great, but how the fark do I do that? I get that I plug the ethernet cable into the PC instead of the router, but what's this kick the router's connection palaver? We are not all tech support nerds.

I believe ABB have a web based dashboard for your service. The "kick" I believe is their way of resetting your connection on the NBN side of things without having to get NBN involved.

They finally told me, but its the assumption everyone else understands their processes, and IT generally, that annoys me.
