Re: Man points
Dad points.
Jake wanted to go to his book week dress up day as Steve from Minecraft.
Challenge accepted!
Smashed this out in 4 hours from 2 cardboard boxes and a bunch of print outs for the textures from the interwebz. Gonna have to grab him a novelty pickaxe from the shops tomorrow to finish it off.

Re: Man points
Saving the man points post for a few weeks when I finish stage 1 of my bike workshop in the garage. Half way thru that project and should have finished the wall off this weekend but this took precedence, plus the root I scored from the happy wife that night.Dr. Pain wrote:Nice work Knappo but does arts and crafts really earn man points?

My dad would have sent me to school as a school boy on dress up day, if he could have been bothered.
The Steve outfit should get you two roots at least!

That's excellent knappo. Our boy is addicted to Minecraft so I may put a couple of cardboard boxes aside to copy the idea.

Well that worked a treat. 4 ply cardboard pickaxe with the flute running vertically for strength. Lets see how long it lasts when he starts mining everything at school on Thursday...

Re: Man points
I bought myself a mitre saw the other day and spent a few hours sawing up wood. I fixed some guttering and turned a tall book case into a small set of shelves to put in our living room, as we've been unable to find anything out there that fits the space.
Using power tools definitely gets me some man points doesn't it?

Re: Man points
This was about six months ago now but I built myself a frame for a 120" projection screen. It was the first time for me doing any sort of framing, I bought what's called a Kreg Jig to do the joining and cut up all the lengths of timber and joined them together, it took me the better part of a day.
The screen material I imported from the states, you can see the final product in the final pic

It's a Tasmanian Oak entry/hall table I am making. Mortise & Tenon joinery (hand-cut) with glue (no screws/nails).
I've also made a few other items:
- End grain chopping board: https://photos.app.goo.gl/v7dTaoeacnA6Cnb86
- Solid pine stand & drawers for my drill press: https://photos.app.goo.gl/jwQ51RVqiX2ScEwN8
Sorry, I don't know how to make photos in my Google album appear in here.

Re: Man points
Looks nicer than the table I made last year. Wanted to fit my cockpit and table along wall to maximize room space for VR. Couldn't find any 900mm deep desks that fit so I made my own out of the highest quality bunnings pine.
3 1200x300 boards dowelled together for the top. A frame dowelled underneath for strength and the legs are screwed in with corner brackets.

Yeah, I have a 70-200L and a 17-40L. Been thinking about upgrading the body lately. Still using the 350D that I bought before selling you the 300D. Though mostly I just use the phone camera now.

Well, since everyone is sharing, here's my latest project, a roof for the kayaks. It's much simpler than the previous ones, but it's mine

Re: Man points
Good job on the slab.
I have started a new hobby over the past few months, and completed my first real project last week.

It would have been much better points Mr Smith if you poured a proper slab, thick enough to handle the weight of a tank
