Open configs and increased autocross items sounds like an awesome thing... lots of possibilities there.

:wtf: are you serious? I thought this was a joke at first.
Still no Sirocco or Rockingham, they'll both be extinct by the time they appear in LFS.
Yep I miss it too but I just don't have the time for it anymore

incidently, we all thought net code in LFS was awesome... they're jumping around a fair bit from an aussie racing night with local dudes. Netcode nowdays could be so much better... I like iRacing's currently... very good

Have to say, those patches are just crappy little fixes. not something one would expect after all this time...

I think the open configuration, with 2 metre wide ramps (with concrete anti slip physics), as well as armco barriers and improved collision = win!!!

EDIT: You can add ramps to South city to access that whole "extension" area which is all driveable road but no backdrop. :)

Its a little messy in places (pre-rendered shadows of tyres which arnt there, or just holes in the fence were tyres used to be) but I think theres plenty of scope to make some freakin' awesome autox tracks now!

Might have to give this a go for a look see.

Ive wanted better ramps and open layouts for years and ive always wanted to access that extra South City section so i might have to check it out. lol i just realised i don't even have LFS installed on my pc anymore :p

LFS Newsletter - New Version : 0.6B

Hello XXX,

We are pleased to announce a new version of Live for Speed with many updates and improvements. The new tyre physics model is still in development, so this version uses the old tyres but with an improved collision system, open track configurations, free view mode, and much more. It provides some interesting new features for LFS racers, while we continue our development. Thanks to our forum members for testing over the last eight weeks!

Some new things in 0.6B :

- New free view mode and layout editor - not bounded by the path
- Improved collisions with objects, barriers, cars, pit garage exit
- Open track configurations allowing you to drive anywhere
- You can now place up to 800 objects to create circuits
- Blue flags, qualifying, race positions list are supported
- New objects added - all objects available at all tracks
- Collision detection and reporting system (via InSim)
- Graphical optimisations improving frame rates
- Adjustable tyre warmers for hot lapping
- Many other fixes and improvements

Read all about the new version and how to get it on the 0.6B information page.

We hope you enjoy the new updates!

Hahahahahaha, adding full straights lined with speed humps, jumps and armco and letting a full field of 20 ai loose creates some classic moments.

Had a quick whirl, found reppo online :)
First time running it on a larger monitor.
But yeah, we really need an arse server. The Pro Racing Room doesn't allow mouse control! (workaround - setting upmouse steering axis in joy/wheel)

Bugger, gotta go out. Frick it.
